Do you need a new couch? Is your old couch just not celebrity enough? Do you sit on your old couch and think about how nice it would be if you could tell your friends that the money you spent on it went to charity?
…Then boy do we have the thing for you.
The IKEA Home Project is getting a bunch of artists and creative people and designers to re-upholster IKEA’s affordable KLIPPAN couches, and they’ll be on display at Carriageworks from the 28th July-4th August and auctioned off at Grays Online. Jasper Knight, Akira Isogawa, The Glue Society, Sydney street artists Mini Graff, Phibs & Deb, Romance Was Born, Del Kathryn Barton, her hilariously rhyming peer Catherine Martin and a bunch of other Australian artists will be covering some couches, with all proceeds going towards the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. It’s kind of like that time when a bunch of people painted the cows, except you can sit on them.
Below is Del Kathryn Barton & Romance Was Born’s collaborative couch creation.
