You may have gathered that Steph is kind of a bit interested in bicycles. As it turns out, so am I. A certain friend of ours has been doing up a vintage bike for me and subsequently I now dream of myself on this red and white beauty, the wind in my hair and my floral dress floating out behind me, a fresh breadstick and some flowers playfully travelling along in the wicker basket, while bluebirds and small rabbits flutter and hop around me, like a transportationally-modified Snow White of the gentrified inner west.
This is all beside the point. I just like rambling on. Bridezilla have just released an album, and they’ll be playing it at this gig. Jonathon Boulet has been touring with the fashionable Tame Impala, and Lions At Your Door, also sporting a new EP, are in peak condition. Deep Sea Arcade have recently put out the Don’t Be Sorry EP and are also touring Sydney pretty hard at the moment, as zombies, at the Newtown festival, and supporting 2SER, variously.
I’m hoping my new baby will be ready for me to ride down to The Factory tomorrow night (8pm) for Bikes Rock, the opening night of the aforementioned Bicycle Film Festival, but if she’s not then I suppose I can ride my old, unfashionable bike down. And be ridiculed by all the cool kids with their sweet fixies.
