If anyone’s mum liked music that could be loosely described as art punk, dinosaur brocore, aquatic psy-pop, terminal trance, forest acid party, glitch hop, cloudy nu-millennia, space fuzz, two steppin, breakdowns, big beat, creationist psychedelia, rude boy skip hop, peruvian pan flute, lo-fi alt folk, and sonic abrasion, she’d probably be described as loose. That is to say, she’d probably be a MILF. Friday’s Mum is a bit of a MILF, and to celebrate, she’s having twice the party she normally has, which is actually quite a lot of party for one lady.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, upstairs from the band room in World Bar on Friday, MILF launches this Friday night with psycho punk-theatrics from Halal, How Are You?, harmonies and Melbourne vibes from Love Connection, ursine embraces and lightly psychadelic interweavings of rhythms Bearhug, and some electronica and hand clapping and pop times from local kids Guineafowl.
We rather like all of these bands and considering that We Say Bamboulee are also playing downstairs, we just might be around World Bar this Friday night to party with this MILF. Also, here is a track from Guineafowl called ‘In Our Circles’ which we think you should have. Because it is good.
