In the last twenty four minutes that I spent trying to calculate the lowest possible amount of money someone could pay to entice me Big Day Outwards today ($135, and they’d have to buy me drinks), two better-festival-related bits of news popped into my inbox.
The first is the Laneway timetable: strangely, they haven’t seemed to work some nice half-hour overlaps into the mix, with a couple of sad collisions, like Dappled Cities/Echo & The Bunnymen and Mumford And Sons/The XX. Looking over that lineup again got me all gooey regardless, so if you have a ticket click here.
The second is the final Playground announcement: most exciting for us is the Filth Stage lineup, featuring (amongst others) Royal Chant, DZ, Traps, Cabins, Zeahorse, Snowdroppers, the Jezabels, WIM, Villains of Wilhelm, Go Roll Your Bones and Bird Automatic. They also announced a High & Dry-esque festival radio station, and a Southern Comfort stage of jazz, funk, soul and dub stage. For more on the festival, do a clicking.
In other news, and after much deliberation, we are NOT POSTING ABOUT THE HOTTEST 100 LEAK because why ruin it for everyone, you know?
